Jobs and the Economic Growth: This is one of my top priorities. We must return to the free-market principles that made our economy the envy of the world and provided prosperity for our families. I support lowering tax rates and reducing regulations so individuals and companies can once again expand and create new jobs.
Energy Security: Developing our abundant domestic oil, natural gas, and coal deposits has become an issue of economic security. We can no longer afford to ship billions of dollars overseas to purchase oil from countries that are not always friends to the U.S. Exploring and drilling for energy right here in America would immediately put Americans back to work in good paying jobs and lower our trade deficit. We must move quickly to secure affordable energy to improve our economy, create new jobs, and strengthen our trade imbalance.
Support our Troops and Veterans: As the mother of a USMC daughter, the brave men and women in the U.S. Military hold a special place in my heart. I will always support our troops by making sure they have the best equipment and our complete backing while they are fighting to protect freedom. I also will fully support our veterans as they transition back to civilian life.
Health Care Reform: We have great health care but the cost of care and insurance coverage are too high. We need real reforms that increase competition and more customer choice. I support the purchase of insurance across state lines, improving the options for personal health savings accounts, personal tax deductions for the cost of health care premiums, and tort reform to address the hidden cost of defensive medicine.
Obamacare: When elected, I will make it one of my priorities to push for the repeal of Obamacare in the next Congressional session. We do not need Socialized medicine we must end the creation of more bureaucracy and let the free market and consumers decide what type of healthcare they want or need. We must protect the quality of our healthcare and keep it affordable without government intervention.
Border Security and Illegal Immigration. The federal government can no longer ignore the drug cartels and human smugglers operating along the border. We must secure our borders in order to protect this nation from these criminal organizations. I support completing the border fence and hiring more Border Patrol agents so we can properly protect this nation.
I support LEGAL immigration. People who would like to become citizens of the United States should apply from their home country and follow the proper procedures. I do not support granting citizenship to people who have intentionally violated our laws.
Pro-Life: The protection of the unborn is priority for me. I will always vote to preserve life from conception to natural end.
Second Amendment: I am a strong advocate for the right of all law abiding Americans to fully enjoy the right to keep and bear arms. I will support legislation that protects and advances this individual right and I will oppose any attempts to restrict the firearms industry or access to ammunition.
Natural Resources: This nation has been blessed with abundant resources. We should take advantage of advances in technology to safely and thoughtfully explore and extract our plentiful mineral deposits.
The Yuma Refinery: This nation has not built a new refinery in over 30 years. The new refinery being proposed for Yuma County is a state of the art facility that will responsibly increase this nations capacity to refine oil. This is one part of the equation needed to lower the high cost of gasoline. The construction and operation of this plant will also provide many new jobs in an area currently experiencing high unemployment. I support the construction of this project.
Marriage: I am a strong supporter of the traditional marriage which is defined between one man and one woman. I believe that marriage is a personal relation arising out of a religious and civil contract between a man and a woman.
